Accomodation

As an international student, You have several options of accommodation in Ukraine that can satisfy your different needs.

You can choose to live in student accommodation or find a home on the private market.

Student Accommodation: Dormitories

The dormitory is the most common and affordable type of student accommodation, its main features are a low price and numerous opportunities for communication. In the dormitory, students can establish friendly relations, find good friends and receive assistance with studies. Furthermore, the dormitory provides the most suitable environment for linguistic and cultural adaptation.

Some Universities have separate dormitories for foreigners, but in majority of higher education institutions, students live in common dormitories. Dormitories can be located both on the territory of a University, which is its campus or away from the educational premises. Security service is provided 24*7 in the dormitories.

There are several types of dormitories. A block type has common washroom and lavatory for 2-3 rooms and one kitchen pr wing or floor. In corridor-type dormitories, there is typically one kitchen and one washroom and lavatory per floor. But the rooms are larger than those in the bloc-type dormitories. Two to four persons live in a room. The dormitory fees are regulated by an educational institution. Student dormitories provide a quite acceptable option for those who have no time to look for an apartment, and for those who need to save money, since rental fees in large cities are high.

Its always advised that freshers who are coming to Ukraine for first time to live in dormitories for first 1 or 2 years to get used to the place and to mingle with their colleagues , and then to choose their other modes of accommodation.

Finding accommodation on the private market

An alternative to the dormitory is renting an apartment outside the University. The student looks for an apartment on his/her own. You can look for a dwelling independently or go to a real estate agency.

Costs

The University dormitories will cost approximately between USD 750 and USD 1000. For private apartments it may costs from USD 200 to USD 550 per month & this may reduce if the flat will be shared with their friends.

Educatter will provide complete assistance to the students in setting up their accommodation.
